I think you're right, they'll follow the same formula (more or less) that they did this gen; moneyhat some timed third party exclusives (just like you said, Mass Effect and Bioshock style) and put out some first party ones

Ergonmically designed devices aren't always the most pleasing visually Hicks buddy, that's just the way it is. I don't look at the pad when I play, I look at the screen. All I care about is how it feels.

C'mon, don't demote me. What'll I tell the wife?

Oohhh Hicken! Touched a nerve eh? I hold the DS3 in my fingers and hold the 360 controller in my hands. Big difference for me.

Listen, I know it's up to personal preference, I just find the DualShock really awkward to use, the 360 is almost perfect for me (aside from the useless D-Pad but most games I play don't use it).

Speaking of D-Pad, when the twin stick dual shock was first designed the D-Pad was the primary input for the left thumb. And whe...

There are rumors that they'll have their own Kinect-like device so I expect the UI will change drastically.

And dump that controller Sony.

Edit: Those PS4 mock-ups look slick as hell though

"It sad to hear that is the reason that came into the console business, I thought it would have been to give consumers a different gaming experience to what their competitors were giving consumers."

Sony got into it to destroy Sega and Nintendo, games are just a means to an end. It's all business.

Oh I agree, they've recovered nicely although they had to burn through a pile of money to do it. Still, quite the feat and Kaz deserves all of the credit imo. It's also good to see that they seemed to have learned the lessons of this current gen and the PS3 launch.

Next gen will be very different for Sony, they're much more focused and disciplined this time. MS won't have such an easy time of it. Again, credit goes to Kaz.

Sony are the only ones who "failed", hemorrhaging market share to Nintendo and, to a much lesser extent, MS.

Next gen will be interesting, the latest rumors have momentum on Sony's side

I posted in the other story but Kaz needs to go for the throat and make some tough decisions.

To start, TV's and Vita have to go. Vita because there's no market for it (they've cut sales targets from 16 million to 12 million to 10 million to 7 million). It's in danger of being pulled from retailers imo. Regarding TV's, they can't compete with the Koreans in a commoditized market. If they MUST stay with TV's for some stupid reason then cut their...

Good post.

HarryMasonHerpderp: What're going to do if/when they do that? Stop buying Sony products altogether? They've cut their sales targets for Vita from 16 million to 12 million to 10 million and now to 7 million. It's obvious they have very little faith in the product and they seem to be reluctant to do anything to save it. It sucks for Vita owners but that's life, products get discontinued all the time. Sony's gotta do what they gotta do.

I prefer a strong, competitive Sony that leads rather than follows. They need to cut the fat in order to do this.
